Diversification is one of the key strategy to plan to change and transform a loss making firm into a profitable enterprise and &#13;
gaining  competitive  advantage.  The  purpose  of  the  study  was  to  determine  the  role  of  diversification  strategies  in &#13;
organizational productivity within the oil industry in Kenya. The findings of the study were that diversification as turnaround &#13;
strategy was important turnaround strategy, help in cutting cost, help in risk spreading, enhance organizations characterized &#13;
by narrow core competence, help to reduce excess and lack of domain change that may lead to crisis, is form of divestment &#13;
with the enterprise and lead to introduction   of   new   products.  The study recommends that management should encourage &#13;
research and development so that the employees can come up with diversified products which help the organization achieve &#13;
target markets.

ABSTRACT &#13;
In  Kenya  besides  many  organizations  lobbying  for  the  increased  employment  of  PLWDs,  amplified  by  the &#13;
constitution  that  at  least  5%  elective  positions  must  be  spared  for  (PLWDs)  there  is  less  employment &#13;
opportunities. For example the entire cabinet and parastatal secretaries of about twenty six people only one is &#13;
disabled. The empirical review has pointed out that employer perception views people living with disabilities &#13;
as costly, and  disturbing. The objective  of the  study was to investigate the  effect of employer perception on &#13;
employment  opportunities  for  PLWDs.  The  population  was  PLWDs  in  selected  Universities  in  Kenya  and &#13;
associations of Disabled people in Kenya. Sample size was employees living with Disabilities and members of &#13;
the association of disabled in Murang’a County. The findings were presented in tabular form. Descriptive as &#13;
well as inferential statistics were used to analyze the findings. The findings showed that Disabled people are &#13;
unemployed due to negative employer perception towards employees. The study recommended that negative &#13;
employer perception must be changed in order the employment of those with disabilities to be enhanced.

Proper strategic leadership is essential in an organisation’s decision making to&#13;
ensure short term success and long term sustainability given the current volatile&#13;
business environment. SMEs in Kenya are the key vehicles of economic&#13;
development but they fall short of achieving their potential. SMEs are facing&#13;
problems such as stiff competition, inadequate financing and the inability of the&#13;
leaders to make long term strategic decisions. This study aimed at establishing the&#13;
effect of strategic leadership on performance of small and medium enterprises in&#13;
Kenya. Descriptive survey design was used. The target population consisted of&#13;
3,001 registered SMEs in Kenya. 301 SMEs were selected as a sample using&#13;
stratified sampling technique. Respondents were the owners and managers of the&#13;
organisations. Collection of primary data was done through a structured&#13;
questionnaire. The response rate of this study was 56% based on 170 respondents&#13;
out of 301. Descriptive statistics (standard deviations, percentages and mean) was&#13;
used in the analysis. Pearson correlation analysis was also performed to determine&#13;
the level of the relationship between strategic leadership and performance of the&#13;
SMEs in Kenya. Strategic leadership practices have been discussed in this study,&#13;
which include: determined corporate strategic direction, effectively managed&#13;
corporate resource portfolio, emphasized organizational culture, ethical practices&#13;
and organizational controls that are balanced. Measures of organisational&#13;
performance such as customer satisfaction, net profit margin, high annual revenue&#13;
and low annual employee turnover were also studied. The two variables’ level of&#13;
relationship was tested using a correlation analysis and it confirmed that strategic&#13;
leadership has an effect on organizational performance. Therefore, this study&#13;
concluded that strategic leadership positively affects the performance of SMEs in&#13;
Kenya. The researcher recommended that balanced organizational controls should&#13;
be effectively applied to realize good performance. Further studies are&#13;
recommended to be undertaken to determine the effect of strategic leadership on&#13;
the performance of county governments in Kenya.

The  purpose  of  this  study  is  to  investigate  the  preference  of  milk  packaging  designs  in  Kenya &#13;
according  to  motivational  factors  of  gender,  age,  income,  education  and  family  size.  From  the  accessible &#13;
literature  on  the  studies  on  consumer  behavior  of  processed  milk  in  Kenya,  there  is  no  study  that  has &#13;
investigated  the  shoppers’  preference  of  milk  packaging  in  Kenya.    Based  on  Chi-square  tests,  the  study &#13;
employed  a  survey  design  and  primary  data  set  of  1000  consumers  of  fresh  processed  milk.  Face-to-face &#13;
interviews were conducted with shoppers in seven supermarkets in three heavily populated towns within Nairobi &#13;
metropolitan.  These  are:  Kiambu,  Ruiru  and  Ongata  Rongai.  The  study  found  that  significant  difference  in &#13;
frequency of choice of milk packaging designs exists among shoppers of processed milk of different age, gender, &#13;
income, education and family size.  Based on those findings, in order for milk processors to succeed in Kenyan &#13;
market, they must focus on the five individual characteristics when designing milk packaging strategies
