dc.description.abstract Condoms offer dual protection to 90% effectiveness against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancies. Majority of university students are aged between 17-24 years and are sexually active with sexual debut calculated at 15 years for adolescents between the ages of 15-24 years contracting STIs and unwanted pregnancies which in turn affect their academic and social lives. The objective of this study was to establish the attitude of students towards condom use. The study used a descriptive research design with quantitative approach. Sample size was proportionately Book of Abstracts, 2018 17 calculated according to the school population then convenient sampling method was used to select samples and measures of central tendencies conducted to analyze responses. Majority (87%) of respondents indicated that there was no need for condom use if they trusted their sexual partners. 51% of the respondents used a family planning method. 42 % of respondents had a negative attitude towards condom use in cases where both partners had undergone HIV test. 56% felt that condom reduces sexual pleasure.
