dc.description.abstract The study explores various types of healthcare information system integration that are designed to help hospital practitioners and professionals with better communications within and outside for better services delivery in private hospitals in Nairobi –County. A descriptive research design methods was adopted to reach out the objectives with the survey method being used on the targeted population of out of which a sample size was done to represent the respondents on the study. The use of self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted among healthcare professionals. The study uses the SPSS to describe the respondents from the questionnaire. The study’s findings reveal out that health information systems is being used in the hospital and interoperability policies were being applied but still much is needed, the use of healthcare medical technology was widely applied and this has made the process faster with easily patient’s monitoring well. The strengths and weaknesses of the health information system, interoperability policies and healthcare medical technologies were identified and strategic recommendations were formulated accordingly. It is anticipated that this research will make a significant contribution to the healthcare information management in private hospital in Nairobi county-Kenya. The study attempts to bridge the existing knowledge gap by presenting the findings of a comprehensive study on healthcare information system, interoperability policies and healthcare medical technologies in private hospitals in Nairobi County. The study enriches the literature by providing an assessment tool and a tool for the evaluation of regional health information systems. The study also give valuable guidelines for improving the interoperability policies in the healthcare information systems for easy and quick sharing of information both in Kenya and the whole world respectively en_US
